With ALL RESPECT to Bob Hope and his countless hours entertaining our Armed Forces Troops around the Globe, we see Gary Sinise carrying on his efforts in many ways. It's an HONOR for US to list BOTH these NAMES in the SAME SENTENCE! In common, both with busy demanding Careers and Business Ventures to make a living and feed their families.
During Bob Hope's 100 years, he started his USO Tours in 1941 [WWII] and for 50 years headlined about 60 FULL 'Traveling Shows' for our Troops. He even had to get a 'Permit' to visit our Territory of ALASKA!

OIC gives concerned Americans a way to reach out to war stricken Iraqi CHILDREN and supports American Troops in their efforts to HELP them. Since 2004 OIC has delivered over 200,000 school supply kits, along with more than 500,000 toys and 1,000s of Arabic-language books, shoes, blankets, backpacks and sets of sports equipment, all of which have been distributed to Iraqi CHILDREN by our troops. While our focus remains on Iraq, in recent months OIC has extended it's reach! Sending shipments of school supplies to Afghanistan and the east African nation of Djibouti, where American Troops are distributing them to those CHILDREN in need.
From the early days co-founding Steppenwolf Theatre Company to develop aspiring Actors' skills... acting in 'General Hospital' and 'Knot’s Landing'... through 'Forrest Gump', 'Apollo 13' and 'Ransom'... to 'CSI: New York' (2004-today) and 'On the Road in Iraq With Our Troops and Gary Sinise' (documentary released March 2009) AND MUCH IN BETWEEN!

All this helps our Troops foster GOODWILL and MENTORSHIP between themselves and the communities they work in AND bring brighter futures to CHILDREN in desperate need! OIC is a program functioning in partnership under People to People International, an NGO with a U.S., not-for-profit [501(c) (3)] tax rating.
Gary actually started by going OVERSEAS on his own, THEN hooked-up with the USO !!!
His Band plays about 36 venues a year with 75% of those shows for USO, Charities or Benefits.
